Jupiter
Washington Square Fountain

📍 The stone rim of the fountain basin. The arch is behind you to the north, which is the shot worth taking.

About this place
One foot nine inches across, and 1.65 miles from a seventeen-foot Sun. Jupiter is the largest thing you will see all day and the first stop that was a walk rather than a stroll — it also outweighs every other planet on this list combined, twice over.

Straight up Fifth Avenue, or west to the Hudson and north along the greenway if you would rather have the water. Either way about forty minutes to Bryant Park.
